“I had been looking to do some custom work on a project guitar I had in mind and had been looking for someone to do the inlay for a while. The prices I had been quoted were in the range of $500+. I was willing to pay it, but then came the lack of people that would undertake my project, inlay a vine all the way to the 22nd fret and then an inlay at the 24th fret with my wife’s name, “Olympia”. “I’ve known Jeremy for a while, and he told me about a luthier that was training him while building an acoustic guitar from scratch. He told me about an inlay he had done on the guitar and showed me pics. The results were stunning to say the least and I knew I had to get him to do the work on my neck. “I asked and he decided to take on my project. I had a complete refret and inlay done to my specs. He showed me a couple options for various leaf colors etc. and we decided on the best look for what I wanted and Jeremy made it happen. “Jeremy kept me updated on the progress from day one of him working on it and the changes and progress he made each couple days. Every day answering my email was like Christmas. “Once I recieved the neck, I was astonished! The inlay just GLOWED in daylight, and then LITERALLY GLOWED under black light (BONUS!). So now the neck is on my guitar and I am a happy player! My old 555 neck now looks better than the 7vwh necks! The MOP and abalone look amazing and his work was flawless. “Thanx Jeremy!” |

13 March, 2003 “Hi Jeremy, “Wow! The guitar arrived today! It looks amazing! And sounds awesome! I love it! I’m so happy for that! Thanks so much for making it! I’ll record soon something and send it! “I don’t know if you know that I’ve recorded a CD and other stuff into instrumental shred, anyway my second CD will be recorded all with this new one and I’ll send you it if you want! “Thanks again...I’m too happy! I’ll go to play now! “Best, Fra.” 13 March, 2003 “You made an excellent work! “Thanks again! I’ll have to admit I was a bit afraid after my past experience (with other custom shops) but I think it is normal, and now i’m so happy that things went perfect and in time! GREAT!!!!! “Fra.” |

“Well Jeremy, “As I told you on the phone, everything got here more or less safe and sound. Just a little box damage, which is to be expected from a cross-continental trip. “Pictures did not do the guitar justice. Believe me when I tell you that I am much more than happy about how the guitar turned out. I will definitely have you do some more work for me in the future and recommend you for work to anyone I know looking for modification work. “Thank you again for working things out financially, as well as doing a marvelous job! “Many Cheers, |

“When I first saw the JEM7DBK at the store I actually didn’t like it at all. The body had this ’midnight custard’ finish on it that was ok but the neck inlay was so boring that I didn’t think twice about it. Then my wife told me she liked the way it looked and so I picked it up and tried it. That’s when I fell in love with this chrome and black monster. The only problem really was that the inlay was still REALLY boring and, in my oppinion, not worthy of a true JEM. “On Jemsite we were all kicking around ideas about our dream JEMs one day and someone coined the idea of a chrome inlay on the DBK. My ears perked right up at that! What an awsom idea! I have got to have that!!! After talking to my long time bud Jeremy he said he could do it, no problem. “So I sent it off, all the way from Germany to Canada. Man, I was sweating until it got there! The very moment that it arrived Jeremy was online sending me an e-mail and allaying my fears. Then the pics started rolling in as the project commenced. All I could think of was ‘MY GAWD that’s gonna be SOOOO beautiful!’ “During the process Jeremy and I both noticed a kink had developed in the stem at the 13th fret and before I could ask about it he’d already removed the section and replaced it. Talk about customer service! This guy’s a total perfectionist! Even after all the hours of routing, cutting and setting of the pieces he didn’t think twice about pulling the section so it would be perfect. He was very keen on my being totally satisfied with the work and refused to rest until I was.
“After everything was finished he popped online and messaged me out of the blue and says ‘I’ve got this crazy idea. How would you like a chrome trussrod cover with your initials on it?’ I was blown away! Like, I’m gonna say no to that right? “Behold! The Chrome and asphalt deamon! “It is truly wonderful to find a craftman who is trustworthy and so hell bent on the customer’s satisfaction at such reasonable prices. It is an all too rare thing nowadays. The calibre of the craftsmanship is awe inspiring and the results are absolutely breath taking! “I’d recommend LGM Guitars to anyone who needs work of this type. You won’t be dissapointed! |

“Two years ago, I decided it was time for me to own a Jem. Problem was that used jems in my area were always overpriced, and I always told myself if I was going to spend over a grand on an instrument, it would have to be a custom. “The problem here (as any of you who have thought about customs will know) deciding on what features I want. I quickly decided on an Ebony fingerboard and mahogany body, but the problem was still what it should look like. I prematurely decided on a silver sparkle, and began ordering all chrome hardware, including a lo pro, pup mounting rings, and machine heads. Well, since then I decided that I needed a swirl. I remembered seeing a long time back a guy who had done a black and white swirl that glowed, so I decided to go that route. “Two problems arose at this point. First, I already have all chrome hardware, and with this finish I’ll need black (watch for blowout pricing on a chrome lo pro soon!). Second, and harder to overcome, was who to have build it. After months of searching, i came upon Ed Wood of Custom Guitar Wares. Several weeks after trying to contact him, I finally got a hold of him, and after discussing the details, a check was in the mail that afternoon. “Four months later, the neck arrives at LGM Guitars, ready to get the inlays. Days later, I receive these pics from the Little Green Man himself. My expectations have been exceeded. I couldnt be more pleased.” |
