Important LGM Announcement

April 23, 2005

The time has come where I have to make some changes at the shop. Things have picked up faster than expected, leaving production somewhat bottlenecked. Regrettably, this has left many guitars in a slow state of completion, resulting in very long waits for some of you. I truly apologize for this. Leviathan orders are increasing as is the custom paint side of the shop. I simply cannot keep up with all the orders and due to current finances and shop size, hiring somebody is not an option at this time.

Unfortunately, this means I have to cut back on some of the services previously offered. This may not be permanent as things can slow down and pick up without explanation, but at this time LGM Guitars will be taking orders only for the following:

  • Leviathan guitars
  • Complete custom guitars (from scratch)
  • High end shell inlay
  • Airbrush Graphics

This means for the time being I will not be offering refinish jobs (outside of airbrush graphics), RG to JEM modifications, lower end inlay work (synthetics) etc.

The only exceptions will be if the customer is willing to accept that the job will not be top priority and will be completed as time allows, this could be 4 weeks, it could be 12 months. I have made promised deadlines in the past that I was not able to keep. I am falling further behind because the work load is so high.

My goal is to provide the best work possible, I do not want to sacrifice quality for speed.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may bring, but as I say, if you don’t mind waiting, I will still do the smaller jobs.

Thank you for your continued support!

Jeremy

LGM Guitars makes its NAMM début

January 27, 2005

After several years of doing extensive guitar modifications, refinishing and custom, one-off builds for clients in North America and Europe, LGM announced the Leviathan series of built-to-order custom guitars.

Building on aesthetic cues from some of the progressive guitar designs of the last 20 years, the Leviathan injects twists that add some style and personality to a category of guitars that has recently been driven more by imitation than innovation.

Leviathan series guitars are available in 6-string, 7-string and 8-string variants, with either fixed bridges or tremolo systems. Standard features across the line are alder bodies, 24-fret maple necks with Dunlop 6100 jumbo frets and Gotoh tuners.

No-charge options include:

  • Choice of fretboard wood (maple, rosewood or ebony)
  • Offset dot fretboard inlays or no face inlay (side dots only)
  • Solid color or two-color opaque burst finishes
  • Hardware color (chrome, black or gold)
  • Pickups (Leviathan 6-string and 7-string guitars feature DiMarzio pickups as standard equipment, Leviathan 8-string guitars come equipped with one EMG 45DC in the bridge position)

Custom options available on the Leviathan series include exotic wood bodies, necks and fretboards, transparent and graphic finishes, custom inlays, 29- or 36-fret necks, 27" extended scale lengths, and GraphTech Ghost piezo systems.

LGM Guitars are made in Canada, and pricing starts at USD$1700 for a fixed-bridge 6-string Leviathan.

LGM Re-Launches LGMGuitars.com

October 4, 2004

With the recent launch of the Leviathan line of built-to-order custom guitars, LGM has now completely refurbished the LGMGuitars.com site.

The new site, designed and built by Design and Branding specialist darren wilson, re-organizes LGM’s extensive body of work into a cohesive, organized structure, with more intuitive navigation and powerful image galleries.

Moreover, the new look of LGMGuitars.com reflects the aggressive and expressive design language seen in the Leviathan models, with nods to the hot rod and custom motorcycle cultures that have been so influential on LGM’s work.

Initial response to the site prototypes has been extremely positive, and the re-invigorated reflects the present and future direction of the LGM brand.
