Write down the idea, and email us! We have brought many a dream to life. Want a custom graphic on your helmet? Computer case? Radio Controlled Models? Please, take some time to browse our site – we have pages with examples of completed projects, a page with prices of our standard offerings, and even a tour of the shop itself. Have a look around, and when you are ready, send us an email with your idea. We’d love to bring it to life for you. |
Question: |
Why do you have to refret the neck when you do an inlay? |
Answer: |
To do a proper inlay, the frets must be pulled. Each fretboard has a radius to it, and even the case of a classical (which is flat), that radius must be maintained. With the frets in, one cannot level the inlay while maintaining a consistent radius. |
Question: |
Why is real shell so much more expensive than fake shell? |
Answer: |
The raw shell is much more expensive, and working with the real shell is far more labor instensive. |
Question: |
How long will it take to get my project finished? |
Answer: |
Due to the nature of custom work, there is no set time period. LGM Guitars tries to maintain a reasonable time frame without rushing or comprimising the work being done. Simple jobs obviously require less time than a complete guitar from scratch. |
Question: |
What do you need me to send? |
Answer: |
Ahhh – an easy one! Only the appropriate parts. For instance, if one wants an inlay, the body is not needed, just the neck. If one would like a custom finish on just the body of a guitar they have, we just need the body sent. And then, one could remove all the hardware from the body. Or send as is, and for a small fee, we will remove the hardware, do the work, and then reinstall the hardware. It really comes down to what the customer is comfortable doing, and what “extras” they wish to pay for. |
